Trump apparently admires the strength of autocrats. There are many kinds of autocrats and dictators out there. Trump has surrounded himself with people who know what he wants and are willing to deliver it.
Will there ever be another election? This, indeed, is the right question to ask.

Larry, I think the question is will there ever be a valid election? Modern autocrats actually like elections that they can control. Putin holds elections. So does Orban. There’s just no way their opponents can win. They like the trappings of democracy–just not the real article itself. Gerrymandering, voter suppression, misinformation, we can expect all of it in advance of the midterms.
